A time to shine

As my 26th birthday approaches, I can't help but look back on my childhood and wonder where the time has gone.

It seems like it was just yesterday that I was heading off to school carrying this....


Oh, the days of sporting a pair of these...


while most certainly rocking....


secured with a....


Oh, the days of having serious discussions with friends about the newest, sparkliest....


while continually smearing on my lips yummy flavors of...


and checking my crimped hair in my mirror...

Oh, the days of my youngest years spent idolizing...


and dressing up and dreaming of scenarios for my beloved...


Oh, the days when I would race home from school to catch fav episodes of....


and the classic...


Oh, the days when the soundtrack of my life included the anthems of...


and...

The 80's and 90's were a time for me to shine. Sparkle. Play.

  2. i was all set to complain about how you were looking back at "so long ago" and i'm 12 years AHEAD of you in age. but then i noticed a LOT of the same things on here that i was into, so i guess i don't feel so old after all. when is your bday btw?

  3. LOL, how fun! Gosh, I remember that -- and the New Kids on the Block (shocking, how they've made a return, haha!). Oooh -- and I had an aunt make me this super amazing Rainbow Brite costume for me one time. It was hilarious.

    Although, yes I liked Rainbow Bright, I LOVED Strawberry Shortcake. But I want to know where were the NKOTB? Did you not like them?

  6. Oh my gosh, I can totally smell my peanut butter and jelly sandwich in that Alf lunchbox. I was too tall for the stirrup pants. I wore them anyway. It was sad.

  9. Oh, those were the days! My list is nearly identical to yours. I also loved NKOTB, The Wonder Years (I was going to marry Fred Savage) and Growing Pains. (I had Kirk Cameron posters all over my room! LOL!) ... oh, and let's not forget about Friendship Bracelets!!!

  10. I'm old- How about the Brady Bunch and Partridge Family. American Bandstand on Satudays. Boston, Journey, Styx, Air Supply. Sweater Vests, Blue eye shadow. SHiney roll on lip gloss. Before each calss ended. Oh, I forgot Rick Springfield too. Saw him in concert.
